A recent manifestation of platformization is the Metaverse, a global. This phenomenon is known as platformization, which has in turn given rise to the phenomena of platform society, where platforms have permeated the core of urban societies. For years, she has only been a shadow of herself. Data infrastructures, economic processes, and governance models of digital platforms are increasingly pervading urban sectors and spheres of urban life. Rather, it is an attempt to stimulate discussion that will allow a movement towards new models of cities that are central to anthropological practices. By 2030, a large proportion of people will be in the metaverse in some way, predicts Melanie Subin, a director at The Future Today Institute in New York City. Suzu is a shy high school student living in a rural village. Moreover, the challenges of public living in contemporary urban settings emerge most intensely at the points of intersection of the invisible technostruc-ture. According to Fernback (2007): 'The distinction between the 'real' and the 'virtual' has become much less useful as the Internet is firmly ingrained in daily cultural existence' (p.53). By addressing these issues, my aim is not to represent some new model of the city. The cyberville is the city rebuilt in its plastic and physical characteristics.

This in turn leads to questions about the enforcement of community ideals articulated through the control of both images and texts within the virtual city. Within this city, being a good citizen is organised around discourses of harmony and unity. Against a background that boasts the absence of a shared history of meaning, a new virtual community has been constructed in which human relationships appear to be organised more perfectly than in everyday life. However, while the virtual city as a general analytical category may richly fulfil its function as a focal point for cultural meanings, this role may also be problematic, as revealed by my own fieldsite, Cybercity.

While raising questions about the position of the city in anthropological practice, much of the existing discourse has failed to acknowledge that there is a new kind of city out there, the virtual city. Columbus, OH, takes the top spot for remote-ready cities in 2021, thanks to its forward-looking outlook, high quality of life, affordability and welcoming attitude it’s a well-rounded community where remote workers of all backgrounds can thrive.
